Isis ®indoor
We only produce this variety in its feminized form. In this way the “connoisseur” is guaranteed absolutely premium “Sativa” seeds. This variety has been selected from “Seed Bank” genetics. A female mother plant was chosen from among 50 female plants grown from seed. After cloning this female, different clones were treated to produce abundant “female pollen”. By fertilizing other clones (backcrossing), feminized seeds were produced. Growing seeds in this way guarantees offspring that are far more homogenous and powerful than offspring from seeds produced in the regular manner. Mostly Sativa, with a clear Haze influence. First class “high”. Branches bow down at the end of the lifecycle of the plant, due to the weight of the buds.
THC: 15%

harvest time outdoor: 9 weeks
Genetic background and history
Having been released to the market in 2003, Isis is one of the younger strains of Dutch Passion. The exact pedigree of this variety is kept as a breeder's secret, but at least one ancestor of Isis is known: A traditional Haze line from Nevil Schoenmakers' "Seed Bank" assortment of the 80ies. In the late 90ies, Dutch Passion launched a breeding project in Switzerland, mainly with resurrected old Seed Bank genetics, amongst them an old Haze variety. It was Ed Rosenthal who brought in these old Seed Bank genetics, being part of the project for a while. But soon the Swiss authorities started to crack down on cannabis growers and sellers, and Dutch Passion decided to move the breeding operation back to the Netherlands. So the breeding of Isis was started in Switzerland and finished in the Netherlands. The pedigree of Isis consists of "Seed Bank" Haze crossed with an unknown mostly sativa. Whatever this mostly sativa exactly is - it must be a short-flowering variety with compact growth, because Isis finishes in nine weeks and does not get very tall. A pure Haze takes at least 14 weeks for ripening and stretches like hell.
Cultivation test
Isis is produced by Dutch Passion solely in its feminized form. I grew only two seeds, because space was very limited at that time. They both germinated quickly and were left in the vegetative state for 3.5 weeks, being cultivated under 400 W HPS in six litre pots with soil mixture. The plants grew amazingly stout, with hardly existent side-branching and short internodes. Leafs were lush green and medium broad. The final plants actually were one huge fat main cola, having reached a height of only 65 and 70 cm in the end. I had never experienced such a compact growth pattern with a mostly sativa strain before, very unusual. After 61 resp. 63 days, it was time to harvest. The thick buds were densely packed with abundant small resinous calyxes that had long white stigmas which turned reddish-brown after withering. Very sparse leaf growth in the buds made for an excellent calyx-to-leaf ratio so that the harvest was very easy to manicure. The volume of the dried flowers had shrinked considerably, but still gave a weight of 26 and 23 grams of finest hazy-looking Isis buds. Their fresh aroma reminded very much of pine, and was so intense that it was even clearly noticeable when being smoked. In addition, this pine-like taste was also very mild. The high turned out to be a clear and fresh sativa trip, very uplifting and straight to the point. It is medium strong (a laboratory has measured 15 % THC with Isis), well manageable and not mentally devastating.
